The shockingly nerdy, homemade, duct-tape-arm on my glasses. As usual, my stunning beauty makes it barely noticeable as shown in this self portrait... but I can get to the grocery store legally, ideally without running over anyone until Monday which is payday... which is in turn, new contact lenses day.

I babysat my 1 1/2 year old niece today. Here is the evidence... Eleanore was the main mess making consultant, though. My niece was just following directions. Hee hee!

House is quiet, except for my nerdily playing Circle of Friends (Edie Brickell) on my guitar- the guitar part is pretty. Took a break to take my pic of the day... because I didn't take any other photos today. :p

I felt kind of sad for this little mouse. My cat murdered it in the night and didn't so much as have a lick. The little serial killer! Look at its tiny little eerily perfect, pink paws.

She got a butterfly cookie. Life is good.
(Later this afternoon, the black dye in the body of it left her with a horrible little Hitler moustache.)

PS. I've decided that panoramas don't really count, so I can post 2 pictures when one is included. No, I don't have a good reason why this rule makes sense to me. Think of it as finding a dollar on the road.

Mud Lake. We saw turtles & ducks, geese, beavers, slugs, snails, bugs and fishies.. and people.

I want to post more photos! Darn my stickler rules.

And how's YOUR day going, Subscribers? That's diaper rash cream: The most Satanic substance on Earth. Made to protect baby skin from hours of pee ammonia. It's even on her tongue. It will never. ever. ever. wash out of her hair.

My first request: My Brazilian agate stone guitar pick. I love this guitar pick. It makes even my dead strings sound incredibly bright.

It was given to me as a gift for teaching at guitar camp a couple of years ago.

This is our wee little 6 inch long African Goliathus Beetle, Mister Lonely. Mister Lonely is dead, but he still whispers to me at night that he wants a live chicken and if I don't deliver it, he will chew my arms off.

Neil brought him all the way home from South Africa for us. Mister Lonely is incredibly disgusting, but too fascinating to get rid of. He was alive once. Eeech.

But look at his face.. and the little feelers/arms that are growing out of it. Awww! he thinks he's people!

The remains of the last of the glorious brandied peaches that I made in the fall. I, uh... forgot to take a picture before Neil and I inhaled them because we were so excited that there was even a jar left.

My daughter informed me at bedtime tonight that she needed a turtle costume for school TOMORROW. That's always great news, right? TEACHERS: please don't rely on your students to tell their parents this information in a timely manner.

Anyhow, I'm crafty, so one hour later: Voila. Seriously, I am showing off because it turned out way better than I thought it would. Not that it's perfect. But it's perfect for the amount of time I'm willing to put in, I guess?

I got a tattoo today. I got a strawberry because it represents a happy memory that I have of my lovely niece who passed away in October. Hopefully it will help me with the healing process. If it doesn't, a little bit of physical pain is just a drop in the ocean.

She insisted on having the lemon. Then she ate the entire thing and didn't even flinch. I was so horrified at the idea that I started involuntarily drooling.
